There are many North Vancouver attractions, whether visiting the city on vacation or on business. There are places to visit for fun, for excitement or just to have a relaxing day.
One of the places that is fun and excitement for the family or business person is Hells Gate and Airtram. This is where it is possible to take an airtram ride across the Fraser Canyon Gorge, which is 35 meters wide and during some of the ride as high as 500 feet above the highway. This is also where gold was mined and one of the activities that can be done is to pan for gold. One of the other things that can be done is to take a ghost tour and possibly see one of the resident ghosts like Edward the smoking man.
Old Hastings Mill House Store is another place where the visitor can open the door to the past and see how people lived and worked. There are children’s toys and other items dating back to the 1800’s before the great fire in the town that left only the Old Hastings Mill House standing.
A day of fun can be had when going to spend the day at Kits Beach; this is where there is an Olympic swimming pool, grassy areas for a picnic or to watch the boats and ships on the water or just the waves. There is sand for building sandcastles and for lying in the sun. Even in the cooler weather there is the Watermark Restaurant where it is possible to have a meal on their heated patio and watch the ocean waves and activity.
Queen Elizabeth Park is another of the North Vancouver attractions that has much to offer visitors with the Bloedel Floral Conservatory, filled with every color of flower and foliage imaginable. Are Tai Chi classes held each morning, there are 18 tennis courts and disc golf. There are areas of the park that make the perfect place for a picnic for the family or as a romantic afternoon. There is also Seasons In the Park, a restaurant at the peak of the park with a picturesque view of the ocean.
